The Right Brush

There are many types of toothbrushes available, but when you purchase one, you should keep two things in mind

Enamel Protection - The Enamel acts as protection for your teeth and can be worn away after many brushings with a hard toothbrush. A soft toothbrush will protect you teeth from damage that can occur from using a hard toothbrush.
Size of Brush - The right size brush will make a difference in how well your teeth are cleaned. A brush that is too big will not allow you reach some of the teeth in the back of your mouth. A smaller head will eliminate this problem.

Brushing Technique

Many people brush their teeth in a side-to-side or an up and down motion, this is incorrect. Using a small amount of fluoride toothpaste, place the bristles on your gumline at a 45° angle. Gently move your brush in a circular motion brushing two or three teeth at a time. Continue to the next set overlapping the teeth already brushed.

Every Surface

The most common mistake when brushing is forgetting to brush the back side of the tooth. This is a very important step in brushing as well as brushing the tongue, gums and the roof of the mouth. This will help remove germs and keep you breath smelling fresh. Find a routine that works for you and brush every day.
